LISC Expansion Plan Announced
We recently announced that we have an expansion planned here in Riverhead. We will be taking over one of the formerly empty stores on Main Street and creating a beautiful new space that will allow us to accommodate our visitors. In addition to exhibit space, makerspace, classrooms, recording studio, and the Long Island Hall of Technology and Invention, a unique rooftop deck and observation area overlooking the Town Square and Peconic River is being planned. Rooftop bio-gardens and exhibits on solar energy and photovoltaics will be a highlight of the large rooftop deck. A crowning component to the Science Center and Town Square is a rooftop planetarium and event space. Naming opportunities are available.
To make this happen we will need your help! We are launching a campaign to fund this new space. We are very happy to have significant funding support from Empire State Development to get this project off the ground and we hope we can count on your support as well.
Join an advisory committee!
We need your help! The Science Center began in 1995 when a group of community members came together to create a STEM learning museum and education organization. We are looking to our community again to help us enter this new phase. If you are interested in getting involved, fill out and submit the form below. You can submit questions below or contact us at office@sciencecenterli.org or 631-208-8000 for more information.
